DEAN SELECTED AS MISS CONGENIALITY AT MS. ABAC 2006

TIFTON—Carla Dean of Bainbridge was selected as Miss Congeniality in the 37th annual Ms. ABAC event at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Sixty-one ABAC students participated in the pageant, which was sponsored by the Interactivities Council (IAC), the Student Government Association (SGA), and the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Dean is a pre-veterinary medicine major. At ABAC, she serves as the president of the Pre-Veterinary Club, and is an active member of the Cattlemen’s Club, Agricultural Equipment Technology Club, and the Rodeo Club.  She is the daughter of Richard and Leisa Dean.

Melissa Maher, an animal science major from Snellville, was selected as Ms. ABAC 2006. Other finalists were Hailey Duke, first runner-up, a business administration major from Moultrie; Megan Brannen, second runner-up, an animal science major from Statesboro; Meredith Carey, third runner-up, an agricultural education major from Royston; and Anna Daniel, fourth runner-up, a biology major from Jackson.

Amanda Monk, a general business major from Dallas, was named the People’s Choice winner. Duke won the interview portion of the contest, and Brannen won the essay portion of the competition.

Contestants were sponsored by campus groups, including clubs, residence halls, athletic teams, and student media.
