BRANNEN SELECTED AS SECOND RUNNER-UP IN MS. ABAC 2006

TIFTON—Megan Brannen of Statesboro was selected as the second runner-up in the 37th annual Ms. ABAC event at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Sixty-one ABAC students participated in the pageant, which was sponsored by the Interactivities Council (IAC), the Student Government Association (SGA), and the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Brannen is an animal science major. At ABAC, she is president of the ABAC Ambassadors, and a member of the Baptist Student Union and Phi Theta Kappa. Brannen was sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors. She also was the Essay award winner of the competition. She is the daughter of Wayne and Kim Brannen.

Melissa Maher, an animal science major from Snellville, was selected as Ms. ABAC 2006. Other finalists were Hailey Duke, first runner-up, a business administration major from Moultrie; Meredith Carey, third runner-up, an agricultural education major from Royston; and Anna Daniel, fourth runner-up, a biology major from Jackson.

Carla Dean, a pre-veterinary medicine major from Bainbridge, was named Miss Congeniality, and Amanda Monk, a general business major from Dallas, received the People’s Choice award. Duke won the interview portion of the competition.

Contestants were sponsored by campus groups, including clubs, residence halls, athletic teams, and student media.
