JANOUSEK ACHIEVES 200TH WIN
TIFTON- Baseball Coach Steve Janousek and the Golden Stallions of Abraham Baldwin College recently hit a milestone right out of the park. Janousek achieved his 200th win on March 10 on home turf.
Janousek, who has
been the ABAC baseball coach since 1997, is currently 15 – 16 this season. At
present time, the Golden Stallions’ overall record since Janousek has been
coach stands at 203 wins and 187 losses and a slot in the 2002 state finals,
where they were beaten by
“This is an accomplishment, but personal stats and accomplishments aren’t that important,” Janousek said. “It’s about the team.”
In his eight years at ABAC he says the most memorable team he has coached is the one this year.
“I like the group I have now,” Janousek said. “We’ve had three or four remarkable wins, and I’ve had a good time with them.”
And as for the most memorable player, well, he is keeping mum on his favorites. “To me, they have all been special,” he said.
