TIFTON- The Forestry

“This was a result of a discussion between members of the Tifton Police Department and Paradise Public Fishing Area,” Dr. Doug Waid, Associate Professor of Forestry and Wildlife at ABAC, said. “The motivation for this day is a sort of giving back, and the club was invited to participate.”
The first annual event will take place at the Paradise Public Fishing Area from 7:30 a.m. – noon. It is open to seniors 55 years and older. Participants 55 – 64 will be required to purchase a one day fishing license for $3.50. Those 65 and up can fish for free.
Paradise Public Fishing Area will open Lakes Cup, Saucer, and Bowl for the day. The lakes are filled with catfish, bream, and bass.
Grandparents are welcome to bring any grandchildren who are 15 years old and younger to fish with them for free. Door prizes will be given away during this event.
“This is a natural extension of what the Forestry and Wildlife Club does, a great way to inform participants about ABAC, and it’s an opportunity for students to interact within the community,” said Waid.
