ABAC AG CLASSIC WINNERS ANNOUNCED

 

TIFTON – Morris Ag Services of Irwinville finished in first place in the 5th Annual Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Ag Classic Golf Tournament, earning the $1,000 cash prize.  Team members included Michael Franks, Chris Brooks, Clint Brownlee and Jason Morris.

          Finishing in second place and claiming a $600 cash prize was the Bayer Crop Science team from Douglas. The Bayer Crop Science team also earned the low gross score prize of a round of golf for four at one of the Reynolds Plantation courses.

          The team representing Herring CPA Group from Tifton earned the third place prize of $500.  Tyson Foods of Dawson placed fourth, taking home a $400 cash prize.  Finishing out the top five was a team from AgGeorgia Farm Credit in Dublin, sharing a $300 cash prize.                

Dr. Larry Allen, chairman of the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources at ABAC, was presented with a golf club for his work with the tournament over the past five years.  Dr. Allen is leaving ABAC at the end of December to return to his home state of Arkansas. 

          Over the past five years the tournament has generated over $90,000 for student scholarships and instructional resources.  Support has come from across the state and a variety of agricultural interests.
