CHANGES THIS YEAR FOR DOLLARS FOR ABAC SCHOLARS

TIFTON—The doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Friday for what promises to be another sellout at the annual Dollars For ABAC Scholars Benefit Banquet and Show at Abraham Baldwin College.

ABAC Assistant Development Director Betty McCorvey said “maybe a handful” of tickets remain to the event, which is sponsored for the 33rd year by the ABAC Foundation.  The Foundation has raised over $1 million in scholarship funds through the show.

McCorvey said longtime patrons of the event will find that a few things have changed about this year’s Dollars for ABAC Scholars. First, doors will open at 6:45 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.   Most of the tables are reserved this year since the Foundation offered reserved tables at a price of $1,250 for eight people.  Regular ticket prices are $125 per person.

The buffet lines will open at 7 p.m. with four identical buffet lines and two identical dessert tables. Guests will be issued place cards to hold their seating selection while at the buffet.

Tifton native and ABAC alumna Jennifer Moorman will open the evening with her performance at 8 p.m., and featured performer John Berry’s show will start around 8:30 p.m.
