UNIVERSITY SYSTEM APPROVES PROMOTIONS FOR ABAC FACULTY

TIFTON--The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently approved the promotions of six faculty members at Abraham Baldwin College effective Aug. 1, 2004.

Katrina McCrae and Jewrell Rivers were promoted to the rank of assistant professor from instructor. Lorie Felton, Dr. Joseph Njoroge and Susan Wilson was promoted to the rank of associate professor from assistant professor. Dr. Kay Weeks was promoted to the rank of professor from associate professor.

            McCrae, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 1999, teaches in the Division of Science and Mathematics. She received a B.S. degree in Biology from Brewton-Parker College and an M.S. in Biology from Georgia Southern University.           

Rivers, who began teaching in the Division of Social Science in 2001, earned his B.S. in Psychology and his M.S. in Sociology from Valdosta State University.

Felton, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 1993, teaches in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources. She holds a B.S. degree in Ornamental Horticulture and her M.S. in Horticulture from Auburn University.

Njoroge received his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Tennessee, an M.A. in Political Science from Eastern Kentucky and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. Njoroge has taught at ABAC since 2000.

Wilson has taught in the Division of Social Science since 2000. She received her B.S. in Vocational Home Economics and her M.S. in Textiles and Clothing from Colorado State University and her Ed.S. in Education Administration and Supervision from Valdosta State University.

            Weeks, who has been an ABAC faculty member since 1979, teaches in the Division of Humanities. She earned her B.A. degree in Theater from Doane College and her M.S. in English from Valdosta State University. In 2002, she received her Ph. D. in English from the University of Georgia.
