INFO SESSION ON UGA TIFTON CAMPUS DEGREE PROGRAMS SEPTEMBER 18

An information session on the University of Georgia (UGA) Tifton campus four-year degree programs in Agri-science and Environmental Systems (AES) and Agriculture Education will be held Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the NESPAL Seminar Room.

Students interested in entering either of these programs in the Spring of 2004 should plan to attend the session. Applications are currently being accepted. The deadline is Oct. 1.

The programs are offered in Tifton through a partnership between Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Courses will be taught in classrooms and laboratories on the UGA Tifton campus and on the ABAC campus. The AES degree program began in the Fall of 2003. The Ag Education program will begin in the Spring of 2004.

In the past, agricultural majors at ABAC who wanted to pursue a bachelor’s degree had to move to Athens to continue their education at UGA. These degree programs are convenient for students who want to stay close to home, and it benefits students who have family and/or work obligations because they can attend UGA classes in Tifton instead of Athens.
