ABAC TRIP TO HIGH MUSEUM OF ART DECEMBER 4
The Abraham
Baldwin Arts Connection is accepting reservations for a trip to the High Museum
of Art in Atlanta on Dec. 4, Polly
Huff, Assistant Director of the Arts Connection, said.
The first 20 people to sign up for the trip will receive a special holiday
surprise.
The cost of the
trip is $60 for adults and $50 for students. This price includes a round-trip
bus ride, lunch in Atlanta, tickets
to the museum, and refreshments. Since seating on the bus is limited, anyone
interested in the trip should register early.
The bus will leave
Tifton at 8 a.m. and return before 5:30 p.m. People who live in Tifton will be
picked up at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage. Those from Cordele will be
picked up at the parking lot of Cordele’s Ramada Inn.
Museum visitors
will see two exhibits for the price of one. The first exhibit will feature Verrocchio’s “David Restored” from the National
Museum of the Bargello
in Florence. The statue, which was
created in the mid-15th century, underwent a restoration. Visitors will observe
new discoveries made during the in-depth, technical examination and cleaning of
the sculpture.
The second exhibit,
“After Whistler: The Artist and His Influence on American Painting,” will
feature the single most famous painting by an American artist, “Whistler’s
Mother.”
