Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers will be the featured performers at the annual ABAC Foundation Scholarship Benefit Banquet and Show on May 9 at Abraham Baldwin College.

Formerly called Dollars for Scholars, the evening has featured a lavish buffet and top quality entertainment from its first show in 1972.

Since last year’s event, ABAC Development Director Melvin Merrill has been informed that Dollars for Scholars is a federally registered trademark of Citizens Scholarship Foundation of America in St. Peter, Minn.

“We’re looking for a new name, but I can promise everyone that we’ll have the same great meal and show,” Merrill said. “The bottom line is that it’s a wonderful opportunity to assist ABAC students through the scholarship program.”

Tickets to the event are $125 each. A limited number of reserved tables for eight people are available for $1,250 each.  For additional information, contact the ABAC Foundation Office at (229) 386-3265. All proceeds benefit ABAC student scholarships.

Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers will reunite for their first national tour in over 10 years. Their 17 Top Ten hits include “All the Gold in California,” “Broken Lady,” and “Houston.” Grammy awards, Cash Box recognition, and the highest honors from the Academy of Country Music highlight the Gatlins’ career.

The Gatlin Brothers have recorded over 25 albums and appeared on over 75 national television shows. Their music includes country, gospel, and big band sounds. They have sung at the White House for five different presidents.

Merrill said tickets can be ordered online at www.abac.edu/foundation. Over the past 31 years, over one million dollars has been generated by the ABAC Foundation through the event.
