WINS ABAC BEAUTY REVUE

Allison Day,
an early childhood education major from Ocilla, was selected as the winner of
the 35th annual ABAC Beauty Revue at Abraham Baldwin College. Day is the daughter of Waylon and Peggy Day.
Other finalists were Tasha Bagley, an animal science major from
Sparks; Holly Brady, an animal
science/biology major from Thomasville; Heather
Walker, a business major from Tifton; and Allison Whitehead, a business administration major from Ashburn.
Stacey Jones, an agriculture education major from
Folkston, won the Essay Award, and Deisy Del Toro, a
law major from Gainesville, received the Contestants’ Award
among the 43 participants in the event.
The Revue was sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors. Day was sponsored by Student
Georgia Association of Educators (SGAE). At ABAC, she is active in SGAE and the
Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Day is also a HOPE Scholarship recipient.
At Irwin County High School, Day was a member of FFA and a drill
team dancer during her junior and senior years. She also received various
academic awards for reading, English, math, and history and received the
highest score on the Georgia writing test at her school. Day was
Miss Irwin County 2000-01, Georgia Miss Sweet Potato 2000-01, and Imperial Miss
Overall Most Photogenic 2001-02.
