Nathan Johnson, a sophomore from Tifton, won the Mr. ABAC title at the 12th annual contest held recently at Abraham Baldwin College.
Johnson, a journalism major, is the son of James and Teri Johnson. He is the editor ofABAC's student newspaper, The Stallion, which served as his sponsor for the competition. He is also a recipient of a Josephine Cloudman Scholarship.
Other students placing in the top five were David Brady, a wildlife technology/agricultural engineering technology major from Thomasville; Eustace Griffin, an animal science and pre-veterinary major from Hoboken; Joel McKie, an agriculture business major from Abbeville; and Carlos Ernesto Montenegro, Jr., a marine biology major from Asheboro, N.C.
Harold Glover, Jr., an animal science/agriculture major from Pelham, was chosen by the other 23 contestants to receive this year's Contestant's Award.
Other award recipients included Brett Marshall, a history education major from Unadilla, who won "Most Enthusiastic," George Farmer, an agricultural engineering technology major from Tallahassee, Fla., who won "Best Smile," Angel Aguilar, a fashion design major from Naples, Fla., who won "Most Photogenic," and Michael Baskett, a landscape design major from Commerce, who won "Funniest."Glover won "Best Personality,"and Montenegro won "Best Eyes." These awards were given by members of the Family and Consumer Sciences Club.
The Mr. ABAC Contest is sponsored, produced, and directed by the Family and Consumer Sciences Club.
