The featured performer this year is country music superstar Lorrie Morgan. Morgan's career took off with the 1989 release of "Dear Me." With that record, as with those that followed, she combined passion and believability to carve a career that made her one of country music's biggest stars. Hits like "Five Minutes," "Something in Red," "What Part of No," "I Didn't Know My Own Strength," and "Go Away" helped her win TNN/Music City News awards for Female Artist of the Year four times (1994, 1996, 1997, 1998). Morgan has three platinum, one double platinum, and four gold albums.
Sponsored by the ABAC Foundation, the benefit represents one of the ways in which the Foundation advances the cause of deserving scholars. All proceeds from the event go directly to students in the form of scholarships.
The Dollars for Scholars banquet, which is prepared by Chef and Food Services Director B. J. Smith and her ARAMARK staff, promises to be a culinary delight.
