DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS OFFERS DINING AT ITS BEST

          Fine food and fantastic entertainment are trademarks of the annual Dollars for Scholars Benefit Banquet and Show at Abraham Baldwin College. The 31st annual event on May 31 will continue the tradition of excellence when Lorrie Morgan performs at 7:30 p.m. in the Donaldson Dining Hall.

          To open the meal, Food Services Director B. J. Smith and her staff from ARAMARK will serve Mediterranean Salad with herb vinaigrette, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and feta cheese and Bruchetta Salad.

          Buffet selections will include Grilled Marinated Mahi Mahi with roasted red bell pepper sauce served with pineapple chutney or sweet and sour chutney on the side, Chef Carved Roast Tenderloin of Beef with roasted new potatoes and demi glace, and Spinach Portobella Bake. Bread selections will include Focaccia--Rustic and Tomato Basil, French Petit Pain, and soft rolls with olive oil.

          The dessert extravaganza will include Fresh Fruit Supreme, Key Lime Torte, Strawberry Whipped Cream Cake, and Brownie Sheet Cake with Coffee Ice Cream. Coffee and tea will also be served.

          Dollars for Scholars is sponsored by the ABAC Foundation. All proceeds benefit student scholarships at ABAC, and the annual event has generated over $620,000 in scholarship funds. Tickets are $125 each. For ticket information, call (229) 386-3265.
