Chesser and Metts were two of 32 students selected for Who's Who at ABAC by a student-faculty committee. To be eligible for nomination, students must have completed at least 35 semester hours at ABAC with at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. From that list, the students at ABAC voted for Mr. and Ms. Baldwin.
Chesser, a forest resources major from Nahunta, has been an active member in student government and in the FFA. He has served as a Student Government Association (SGA) senator and is currently serving as treasurer. Chesser serves as the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee and has served on the Committee for Budgeting and Administration of Mandatory Student Fees. He is also a Resident Assistant in Branch Hall.
Metts, an animal science/pre-veterinary major from Alapaha, is active in many clubs and organizations, including FFA, ABAC Ambassadors, the Cattleman's Association, SGA, and Phi Theta Kappa. She has served as the 2000-01 Ambassador President, Freshman Class President, and SGA Vice-President. Her committee work includes SGA's Academic Affairs Committee, Ambassador Fund-Raising Committee, 2001 Student Leadership Banquet Committee, Open Campus Day Committee, and Student Activities Budget Committee.
Other students awarded Who's Who at ABAC included Melanie Anderson, an accounting major from St. Mary's; Shara Arnold, a business administration major from Decatur; Victoria Calhoun, a criminal justice major from Clarkston; Janie Cannon, an agriculture business major from Dunnellon, Fla.; Annelize Cloete, a marketing and management major from Port Alfred, South Africa; Sierra Coggins, an animal science major from Roopville; John Michael Crawley, a wildlife management and criminal justice major from Appling; and Amber Dowd, an agriculture major from Pembroke.
Also receiving Who's Who at ABAC honors were Kristy Fletcher, a fashion merchandising and business management major from Sycamore; Tom Gay, a political science major from Tifton; Eustace Griffin, a pre-veterinary and animal science major from Hoboken; Cynthia Harvey, a criminal justice major from Albany; Shayla Kisling, an agriculture education major from Douglas; Laura Knowles, a family and consumer sciences education major from McRae; Elizabeth Martin, a family and consumer sciences--nutrition major from Tifton; and Lori Mae McFarland, a business administration major from Tifton.
