In the past, only one trip has been offered by the college each summer. A second trip was added because so many people have requested a return trip to Ireland. In addition to a previous trip to Ireland and England, other ABAC trips included visits to Italy and London, Paris, and the Alps. This summer, ABAC is sponsoring a journey to Greece and the Greek islands.
The nine-day visit to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden is a tour package designed by Cultural Heritage Alliance (CHA) Educational Tours. Projected dates of the trip are June 24 - July 2, 2002. Staff Development Unit (SDU) credit is available. The cost of the trip is approximately $2,400. The fee is based on double occupancy/Atlanta departure.
During their stay, tourists will visit Copenhagen, Christiansborg Palace, Town Hall Square, Amalienborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle and Tivoli Gardens. They will also take an overnight cruise to Oslo where they will visit Akershus Castle, Frogner Park, Kon-Tiki Museum at Bygdoy Island, and Radhusplass Square.
The fee for the trip includes round-trip air transportation, six nights' accommodations in selected three and four star hotels, one overnight cruise, full-time services of a professional, multi-lingual tour director, all on-tour transportation services, breakfast and dinner daily, guided city sightseeing tours, and walking tours as per itinerary, and taxes.
The 12-day visit to Ireland and Scotland is also a tour package designed by CHA Educational Tours. Projected dates of the trip are May 26 - June 6, 2002. SDU credit is available. The cost of the trip is approximately $2,800. The fee is based on double occupancy/Atlanta departure.
During their stay, members of the travel group will visit several famous places and landmarks, including Killarney National Park's Muckross House, Blarney Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College, Wordsworth's Dove Cottage, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Blair Castle, Dunvegan Castle, Stirling Castle, and Glasglow Cathedral.
The price for the trip covers round-trip air transportation, 10 nights' accommodations in selected three and four star hotels, full-time services of a professional, multi-lingual tour director, all on-tour transportation services, breakfast and dinner daily, guided city sightseeing tours, and walking tours as per itinerary.
