ABAC RETIREES HONORED APRIL 23

          Six faculty and staff members at Abraham Baldwin College were honored at a retirement reception April 23 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the Donaldson Dining Hall. The reception honored those who have retired from ABAC since the 2000 reception.

          Retirees include the following: Patsy G. Williams, Dr. Leon W. Benefield, Jr., Lewis Paul Tompkins, Tommy LaTrelle Cheek, John David Cowart, and Richard L. Payne.

          Williams, senior secretary in the Baldwin Library, is retiring after 30 years of service to the college. Benefield, a professor in the Division of Science and Mathematics, has been with ABAC for 27 years. Tompkins, training coordinator with the Police Academy in the Division of Social Science, will retire with 23 years of service. Cheek, inventory clerk in the Procurement Office, has contributed 21 years to the college. Cowart, an associate professor in the Division of Science and Mathematics, has been with ABAC for 20 years. Payne, an associate professor in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources, is retiring after 18 years at ABAC.

          All retirees were presented plaques at the recent Faculty/Staff meeting.
