ABAC STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO PHI THETA KAPPA

          The Phi Theta Kappa honor society recently inducted 28 new members into its Omega Delta chapter at Abraham Baldwin College.

          New members include Clarence (Trey) Alexander, a pre-med major from Nashville; Dede W. Barfield, an early childhood education major from Fitzgerald; Shannon Dee Barron, an early childhood education major from Tifton; Robert O. Boatwright, a pre-med major from Willacoochee; Shanna Boyett, an agriculture marketing major from Reidsville; Deidra Dunn, a business administration major from Tifton; Chris Dunsmore, a forestry major from Lincolnton; Rhonda Griner, an accounting major from Lenox; Anna Lee Hastings, a biology major from Valdosta; James Robert Haynes, a golf and grounds management major from Richmond Hill; Lisa Johnson, a pre-pharmacy major from Tifton; Shayla Kisling, an agriculture education major from Douglas; Joshua B. Massey, a biology major from Tifton; and Mecca McIntyre, a nursing major from Fitzgerald.

          Also inducted were Ashley McMillan, a pre-physical therapy major from Tifton; Linda Nhu, a pre-pharmacy major from Tifton; Joshua North, an accounting major from Hahira; Lisa Owens, a business major from Wales; Joanie Padgett, a music education major from Fitzgerald; Leslie A. Parrish, an animal science major from Savannah; Lindsay Poole, a criminal justice major from Riceboro; Michael B. Pound, a criminal justice major from Ashburn; Paul J. (Jamie) Sherrod, III, an engineering major from Pavo; Joanna Taylor, an allied health major from Tifton; Debra "Leanna" Troupe, a nursing major from Fitzgerald; Crystal L. Tucker, a nursing major from Fitzgerald; Lindsey Walker, a business administration major from Tifton; and Erin Nicole Young, a psychology major from Fitzgerald.

          Phi Theta Kappa, the only international honor society for two-year colleges, accepts members through invitation only. To be invited, students must have accumulated at least 15 hours of academic work and maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students must maintain a minimum 3.2 average after induction.
