SCIENCE OLYMPIAD MARCH 3 AT ABAC

          Abraham Baldwin College's Division of Science and Mathematics will host the Regional Science Olympiad on March 3 beginning at 9 a.m.

          Nineteen schools will participate in the event. Each team will include up to 15 members in the senior division (grades 9 - 12). Schools participating in this year's Olympiad include the following: Richmond Hill, Valwood, Westminster, Jenkins, Bradwell Institute, Ware County Magnet, Emanuel County Institute, Seminole County, Telfair County, Hardaway (two teams), Ware County, Valdosta, West Laurens, Worth County, Southeast Bulloch, Coffee, Irwin, and Jasper County.

          The top six teams will advance to the state competition to be held later this spring. The first, second, and third place teams will receive trophies. Medallions and ribbons will also be awarded. The awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

          ABAC faculty members will supervise the events, which will be held at various locations across the ABAC campus. Dr. Jeff Seela, ABAC faculty member who directs the ABAC site, said he really appreciates the work done by students, faculty coaches, and ABAC faculty and staff in helping supervise the Olympiad.
