Admission is free to each of the three performances, but a collection will be taken each night for the Patrick Abney Memorial Theatre Scholarship Fund. Abney, an ABAC student who was interested in theatre, died in late December. Several concerned Tiftarea residents have initiated fundraising events and hope to raise enough money to be awarded to scholarship winners each year.
During the performances, audience members are invited to shout ideas to the performers, who will in turn "make something out of nothing" by portraying a scene from the suggestions. The Imposters always attempt to work "clean and clever" and will not take audience "calls" that are obscene.
Dr. John Galyean, Director of Theatre and ABAC's Baldwin Players, said that most improvisation is funnier when the calls taken are really mundane.
"You might think two nuns on the surface of Mars might have endless comic possibilities, but usually two nuns at Wal-Mart is funnier," Galyean said.
