DEADLINE FOR GREECE TRIP MARCH 1

It is not too late to sign up for the trip to Greece and the Greek Isles offered by Abraham Baldwin College's Public Service & Business Outreach Center this summer. Diane Kilgore, Director of ABAC's Public Service & Business Outreach Center, said 30 travelers have already made their reservations and hopes that more are planning to take the trip. The cost is $2,568 per person. This figure is based on double occupancy/Atlanta departure. The deadline is March 1.

The 10-day visit is a tour package designed by Cultural Heritage Alliance (CHA) Educational Tours. Projected dates of the trip are June 24 - July 3, 2001. Staff Development Unit (SDU) credit is available. The trip is open to anyone who would like to attend. For more information, call Kilgore at (229) 386-3267.

During their stay, members of the travel group will visit several famous places and landmarks, including the Acropolis' Parthenon, the Theatre of Dionysius, the National Archaeological Museum, Mycenae's Lion Gate & Circle Grave, Theatre of Epidaurus, and the Tombs of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. The trip also includes a three-day Greek Island cruise.

Fees for the trip include round-trip air transportation, five nights' accommodations in selected three and four star hotels, three nights aboard the Greek Island Cruise ship, three meals daily on the ship, full-time services of a professional, multi-lingual tour director, all on-tour transportation services, breakfast and dinner daily (while not on the boat) guided city sightseeing tours, and walking tours as per itinerary.

According to Kilgore, the purpose of the trip is to offer an opportunity for members of the community to become more globally aware. This trip will mark the fourth ABAC excursion to Europe.
