ABAC MUSICAL GROUPS TO PERFORM AT AG EXPO OCTOBER 16 - 18

          Musical groups from Abraham Baldwin College will represent ABAC at the Sunbelt Ag Exposition in Moultrie on Oct. 16 - 18. The groups will perform at the ABAC building near the main gate.

          The Jazz Ensemble and a Dixieland band, both directed by Don Coates, will perform at the Expo on Oct. 16. The ABAC Spirit Team dancers, directed by Carlos Howard, will perform on Oct. 17. The Jazz Choir, directed by Wayne Jones, will perform on Oct. 18.

          The Jazz Ensemble will perform "Blue Hue," "Fascinating Rhythm," "Kristi's Waltz," "Lover Man (Oh, Where Can You Be?)" and "Let's Face the Music and Dance." Selections by the Dixieland band include "Muskrat Ramble," "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street," "Baby, Won't You Please Come Home," "Who's Sorry Now," "Ballin' the Jack," "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Original Dixieland One Step," "Oh, You Beautiful Doll," and "When the Saints Come Marchin' In."

          The ABAC Spirit Team dancers will perform to a variety of music, spanning from the mid-70s to the 90s. They will also perform three numbers that they choreographed themselves. ABAC alumna Autumn Cross will also provide vocal entertainment.

          The Jazz Choir will perform the Stevie Wonder hit, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours," "Down at Poco Locos," "Saturday Night Fish Fry," and a medley of the jazz tunes "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "Sing, Sing, Sing."          

          Showtimes on Oct. 16 are 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. On Oct. 17, showtimes are 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. On Oct. 18, showtimes are 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

          The Expo began in the mid-60s as a series of small farm equipment shows on the campus of ABAC. Since the move to Spence Field in Moultrie in 1978, ABAC has been a prime exhibitor and supporter of the largest show of its kind in the country.
