Tom Call, Registrar at Abraham Baldwin College, will become Interim Vice President for Student and Enrollment Services at ABAC effective Nov. 15.

Call will be responsible for not only student affairs, which includes student development, financial aid, housing, and the health center, but also the admissions and registrar's offices.

Call holds an M.S.degree in agronomy and completed his B.S. degree with a double major in agronomy and plant pathology. He received both degrees from the University of Georgia.

Call came to ABAC in the fall of 1981 as an instructor of agronomy in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources. In the fall of 1995, Call moved to the Registrar's Office, where he served as the Registrar on an interim basis. In March 1996, Call's position became permanent, and he has served as Registrar since that time.

Call said he is very honored that President Mike Vollmer asked him to fill this position.

"I am excited about the opportunity," Call said. "The position will help break down the administrative barriers and improve communication with the students. I am looking forward to my new responsibilities."

Vollmer said this is a key position on the ABAC campus as the college moves toward trying to create a "one-stop shop" for student services.

"I am confident that Tom will do a great job," Vollmer said, "and I'm looking forward to his leadership in this area."
