"We've been talking about hosting events off campus for quite a while," Nancy Coleman, Executive Vice President of the ABAC Alumni Association, said. "We want to reach people who don't attend Homecoming and other on-campus events. Alumni have also told us they want family oriented activities. Several other colleges have had great success with group seating at a Braves' game, so we decided to give it a try."
Tickets for the Braves' game are $18 each and are available on a first come, first sold basis. The seats are located in either the field pavilion or terrace pavilion levels. To order tickets, contact Coleman at (229) 386-3321. The deadline is April 1. Tickets will be mailed to alumni by May 1. Coleman encourages alumni to make this a family outing. Gates to the Turner Field Plaza area open three hours prior to game time.
Coleman has also arranged for group accommodations at the Hampton Inn at Southlake, just off I-75, 12 miles south of Turner Field. It is conveniently located near Southlake Mall and a variety of restaurants. Group room rates are $69 plus tax for up to four people per room and includes complimentary breakfast. Alumni should make their own reservations by calling (770) 968- 8990 and asking for the ABAC group rate. This rate is good for both nights, May 25 and 26. Reservations should be made no later than April 15 to receive this rate. If there is not enough interest to secure the group rate, room rates will be $89 plus tax.
Additional information about the outing will be mailed with the tickets by May 1. There is a limited number of tickets available, so order early. If there is not sufficient interest by April 1, the event will be canceled, and ticket orders refunded.
