POWELL SELECTED AS DIRECTOR OF

ABAC ON THE SQUARE

          Kay Powell, assistant professor in the Division of Business Administration at Abraham Baldwin College, was recently selected as the new part-time Director of ABAC on the Square in Moultrie. Powell, who served in this position on an interim basis during the summer term, will also continue to teach classes in both Tifton and Moultrie.

          As the Director of ABAC on the Square, Powell will be responsible for assisting in planning, developing, organizing, and conducting all aspects of courses conducted at or in conjunction with ABAC in the Moultrie area. Powell holds an A.S. degree in secretarial science and B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in business education, all from Valdosta State University.

          Powell said she is excited about her new position and that she "looks forward to serving the needs of students in the Moultrie area and working with the community to provide vital educational opportunities."

          Angie Palmer, ABAC's Director of Evening and Off-Campus Programs, said she is pleased to have someone with Powell's expertise and background directing the programs at ABAC on the Square.

          "We look forward to her building on the excellent foundation and expanding the programs in the future," Palmer said.

          Dr. Bettie Horne, ABAC's Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, is also glad that Powell is filling the position.

          "Kay Powell brings a host of strengths to her new position, and we are looking forward to promoting a number of new programs with her help," Horne said. "Professor Powell is a fine, young professional with energy and enthusiasm for promoting ABAC on the Square in the Colquitt County area."
