Jim Folds of Tifton has been selected as the Director of Plant Operations at Abraham Baldwin College.
Folds, a manager/administrator, is fully experienced in all phases of management, administration of personnel, and operating within demanding environments. His previous career experience includes positions as a communications systems sales consultant/engineer, a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, a manager of Robins Air Force Base Aero Club in Warner Robins, and a staff member at the Auburn University School of Aviation. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Auburn University.
"I am very happy to have the opportunity to fill this position," Folds said. "I intend to continually strive to improve the physical plant and the relationship between the personnel and the staff and students. I want to offer the best in customer service. I also want to improve the look and functionality of the program and implement a safety program. Overall, I think this will be an enjoyable experience for me because I have a lot of friends here in Tifton, and it will be fun to interact with them on a daily basis."
Former Director of Plant Operations Chet Kimmell recently retired after 26 years of service at ABAC.
