The Arts and Entertainment Series continues on Friday with the internationally acclaimed Brazilian Guitar Quartet. The group is slated to play at the United Methodist Church in Ocilla at 8 p.m.
In Brazil, the group is often referred to as the "Dream Team" -- four of the most brilliant guitarists living in that country. The Brazilian Guitar Quartet features Paul Galbraith, who won the silver medal at the Segovia International Guitar Competition in the United Kingdom at the age of 17.
Other group members include brothers Edelton and Everton Gloeden and Tadeu Do Amaral--each with a lengthy and distinguished career of successful recordings and outstanding performances.
The quartet utilizes both eight-string and six-string guitars on classical and Brazilian folk songs. Uniquely, Galbraith plays the eight-string upright, resting the guitar on an endpin similar to a cello.
For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Arts Station at 386-3558. Tickets are $20
for adults and $17 for students. Admission for ABAC students is free with a valid ID.

Arts Station Project
The Arts Station will conduct a two-week community service project in Turner County beginning Feb. 4. The project will involve all 200 after school program students in the county. The aim of the project is to produce a large tile collage on a theme Salute to the Community, which will be installed in Ashburn's Heritage Park. This activity gives the students an opportunity to give back to the community by creating an original piece of art and a marker in the history of their schools.
Funded by the 21st Century Grant, the project is one of many in which the Arts Station will play
a vital role. The project will be coordinated, supervised, and installed by Polly Kalinova. If you
would like to volunteer to assist with the collage, call 3558.
