Deadline For ABAC Admissions Applications August 1

TIFTON –The deadline for admissions applications for the fall semester at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) is Aug. 1.  Classes for the fall term begin August 16.

As a State College of the University System of Georgia, ABAC offers bachelor’s degrees in Rural Studies, Diversified Agriculture, and Turfgrass and Golf Course Management.  Associate degrees are available in a wide variety of majors, ranging from Nursing to Forestry. Bachelor’s degree programs from Georgia Southwestern are also offered in Early Childhood Education, Management, and Accounting in their entirety on the ABAC campus.

“Beginning this fall, ABAC will expand the Rural Studies Program,” said Donna Webb, Director of Enrollment Services. “The writing/communication concentration will enhance the Rural Studies program and provide students with another option in this unique area of study.”

A new Associate of Fine Arts degree in Music from the School of Liberal Arts will also begin during the fall 2010 term. The degree will be awarded to students completing 60 credit hours of music and general education.  This program is designed for transfer to a university so that students can earn bachelor’s degrees in Music, Fine Arts or Music Education.

Students can attain ABAC degrees through the Schools of Business, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Liberal Arts, Human Sciences, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Science and Mathematics.

“All information necessary to complete the application must be received by August 1 to ensure that the office has time to process the application and make the admissions decision,” Webb said.  “Applications received after August 1 will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the registration process may be delayed.”

Prospective students who need more information on the fall semester can visit the ABAC web site at www.abac.edu or via e-mail at abacinfo@abac.edu.
