Jazz saxophonist Kenyon Carter will
perform at the First Tuesday Concert Series on Nov. 3.
FIRST TUESDAY CONCERT AT ABAC NOVEMBER 3
TIFTON
–The First Tuesday Concert at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at 7 p.m. on
Nov. 3 will feature saxophonist and composer/arranger Kenyon Carter. Carter’s
performance is made possible by the Grassroots Arts Funding Program.
The concert will take place in the ABAC Chapel of All
Faiths. Tickets for the performance can be purchased at the door. The cost is
$3 for adults and $1 for students. ABAC students will be admitted free with ID.
Patrons of the Arts and Entertainment Series can attend at no charge.
Carter holds bachelor’s degrees in performance and music education
from Valdosta State University as well as a Master's degree
from Georgia State University in jazz saxophone performance.
While studying at VSU he was named "outstanding soloist" at the
Elmhurst Jazz Festival.
He is a regular member of Kenyon Carter Connection, The David Brothers Band, Cobb Symphony Jazz, Kidd Blue, and The Soul Purpose Band. He is also active as a freelance musician, playing with many of Atlanta's most respected and active musicians, performing pop, R&B, and jazz in virtually all of its forms.
Carter enjoys sharing his passion for music with students as the saxophone instructor at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega and at the Georgia Center for the Arts in Kennesaw. He is also the vice president of the Georgia Association of Jazz Educators and is a staff arranger and rehearsal assistant for the United States Air Force's internationally recognized entertainment troupe, "Tops in Blue."

First Tuesday Concert Series takes place on five selected first Tuesdays during
