Sixth Furlough Day Set for January 4
TIFTON--The
sixth furlough day for employees at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College has
been set for Jan. 4, 2010. Taking the
furlough day at that time will allow faculty and staff to have extra time with
their families during the holidays. It
will also allow the College to save on energy consumption by delaying the
return of employees until Jan. 5, 2010.
ABAC
will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 for the holidays and will open again at 8 a.m.
on Jan. 5, 2010. Beginning on Jan. 5,
2010, ABAC will return to an 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. schedule on a Monday
through Thursday basis and an 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. schedule on Fridays.
As
with the previous five days of furlough, ABAC Police officers, residential
Housing staff and employees below the previously stated minimum salary will be
exempt.
Three
days of the six-day furlough plan required by the University System of Georgia
are being taken up by ABAC from 3-5 p.m. on 12 Fridays through Dec. 20. The fourth furlough day is on Nov. 25, and
the fifth furlough day is on Dec. 24.
