ABAC FALL CHORAL CONCERT ON NOVEMBER 10
TIFTON - The Concert Choir at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will perform a variety of choral music at a fall concert at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 in Howard Auditorium. The event is open to the public at no charge. Dr. Susan Roe, Choral Program Director at ABAC and an ABAC faculty member, will direct the presentation.
The choir’s selections for the evening will begin with “The Star Spangled Banner” arranged by John Stafford Smith, followed by “The Heaven’s Are Telling the Glory of God” from Franz Joseph Haydn’s oratorio, “The Creation”.
The
next piece performed, “Come To the Music”
by Joseph H. Martin, will be sung by the tenors and basses of the concert choir
accompanied by Andrew Davidson, accompanist for all the choirs, Ms. Sheri
Grabowski, flutist, and percussionist Johnathan T.
Thomas. The sopranos and altos will follow, singing David Child’s “I Am Not
Yours”.
The ABAC Chamber Singers will perform Alisa Bair’s “Angel Breathing Out”, followed by the ABAC Jazz Choir, which will perform “Come Fly with Me” arranged by Mac Huff and “Unforgettable” arranged by Kirby Shaw.
Two spirituals, “Go Down Moses”, arranged by Greg Gilpin, and “Slow Me Down, Lord”, arranged by Linda Spevacek, will be sung by the entire Concert Choir followed by Mark Patterson’s “The Silence and The Song” to conclude the evening’s performance.
