TURNER COUNTY RESIDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT ABAC

TIFTON—Brian Burdett, Heather McGuire, and Kate Williford from Sycamore have been selected as ABAC Foundation Scholars and will receive Foundation scholarships to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for the 2009-10 academic year.

The ABAC Foundation makes available on an annual basis full tuition scholarships to three of the top five graduates from high schools in Tift County, Colquitt County, Worth County, Cook County, Turner County, Fitzgerald, Irwin County, Berrien County, and Tiftarea Academy.

Burdett, a middle grades education major; McGuire, a pharmacy major; and Williford, a psychology major, all graduated from Turner County High School.

The deadline for applications for the fall term at ABAC is Aug. 1.  Fall semester classes begin Aug. 17.
