FITZGERALD RESIDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT ABAC

TIFTON—Michael Arena, Megan Green, and Nicholas Starkey from Fitzgerald have been selected as ABAC Foundation Scholars and will receive Foundation scholarships to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for the 2009-10 academic year.

The ABAC Foundation makes available on an annual basis full tuition scholarships to three of the top five graduates from high schools in Tift County, Colquitt County, Worth County, Cook County, Turner County, Fitzgerald, Irwin County, Berrien County, and Tiftarea Academy.

Arena, a pharmacy major, received a Presidential scholarship as well.  Green, a liberal arts major; and Starkey, a pharmacy major, both received Foundation scholarships. All three scholarship recipients graduated from Fitzgerald High School.

The deadline for applications for the fall term at ABAC is Aug. 1.  Fall semester classes begin on Aug. 17.
