Interim Department Heads Named At ABAC

TIFTON--Nine new interim department heads have been named as a part of the ongoing reorganization of the academic structure at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

President David Bridges said the selection of the new interim department heads is the next step in the academic reorganization which began in April with the naming of six schools of study and a dean to head each school.

"Though numerous challenging budget cuts, the college has gone forward with putting this plan into action," Bridges said. "Given the continued downward economic trend and reduction in state funding, it becomes even more prudent to minimize costs associated with this plan."

The interim department heads are as follows: School of Agriculture & Natural Resources--Lori Felton, Agriculture; Dr. Rod Brown, Forest Resources; School of Liberal Arts--Dr. Billy Reynolds, Literature and Language; Keith Perry, Fine Arts and Communication; Dr. Joseph Njoroge, History and Political Science; School of Human Sciences--Anthony Fitzgerald, Behavioral Sciences; Amy Warren, Family and Consumer Sciences and Education; School of Science & Mathematics--Geoff Clement, Mathematics; Dr. John Farrar - Science.
