ABAC PLAYER SELECTED FOR ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA STATUS

TIFTON-Kenneth Bragg, a member of the golf team at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, has been selected for Academic All-America status by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Bragg, an environmental horticulture technology major from Peachtree City, was named for the prestigious honor because of his superior academic standing. He completed the recent academic year with a grade point average of 3.71 on a 4.0 scale.

ABAC Athletics Director Alan Kramer said that student/athletes deserved special recognition because of their extra effort, both on the field and in the classroom.

To make the Academic All-America team, students had to participate in at least one season at the varsity level, maintain a grade point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale for 45 semester hours, and complete at least three semesters at the college.

The ABAC golf team was also named as one of the NJCAA 2009 Spring Academic Teams of the Year with a team GPA of 3.06.

Classes begin for the fall term at ABAC on Aug. 17.
