Building Security

The following statement represents the College's building security policy:

"All buildings will be secured as soon as possible after the offices close or classes end. The ABAC Police Department will require authorization from a responsible party before unlocking a building outside of normal business hours." Residence life areas are under the authority of the director of residence life, who makes decisions about when those buildings are closed.

The ABAC Police Department officers conduct personal patrols of the buildings and check the doors and windows to secure the campus. The patrol emphasizes the safety and security of the residence areas and of other occupied areas. The house directors and resident assistants conduct periodic patrols in their assigned buildings.
