Campbell on Megan: “Megan is an excellent shortstop and as she gains experience at the college level, she will be a big asset to our young team. She has all the tools to become a great college player for ABAC.”
ABAC: “Megan was our starting shortstop last season playing there the majority of the games. She hit .220.”
High School: Megan was a four year varsity softball letterman at Statesboro High School under head coach Karry Parker, and served as team captain her senior year. She was awarded Most Valuable Player her sophomore year, Most Valuable Defense her junior year, Most Valuable Offense and First Team All-Region her senior year. Her senior year she led the Lady Devils softball team in every stat. Megan was recoginzed in 2004 as one of the Statesboro Herald's "Women In Sports". In 2005 Megan was nominated for the Who's Who in Athletics at Statesboro High, was on the homecoming court and was a three year varsity letterman for the Lady Devils basketball team.
Personal: Megan was born on February 23, in Statesboro, GA. She is the oldest daughter of Ricky and Mary Henley. She has one older brother Ty, and one younger sister Mary-Ashley. Megan's favorite things to do are play softball, work out at the gym/run, go shopping, hunting/fishing, take trips to the beach, swim, talk on the phone, spend time with her family and friends and have a good time. Megan is majoring in business administration.
Why ABAC? When I met Coach Campbell and all the girls the day I tried out, I just knew ABAC was the team I wanted to play with and be a part of. The knowledge Coach Campbell has about softball will only add that much more to my game.
