Campbell on Kayla: “Kayla is a great
fundamentally sound infielder. She will see time in our infield and will help
us with her bat. She is an excellent bunter and will play a big role in our #2
spot in the batting order. Kayla is also a gifted student.”
ABAC: “As a freshman, Kayla was named to the All Conference (GJCAA) team while playing 3rd base. She hit over .500 in conference play.”
High School: Kayla was a four year letterman at
Tift County High School, where the Lady Devils were the Region 1-AAAAA Runner-up
her sophomore and junior seasons and Region 1-AAAAA Champions her senior year.
Kayla was named 1st Team All-Region her junior year and an honorable
mention pick her senior year. Her senior season she was also named to the GACA
All-Region team. Kayla received awards such as the Academic Award, Best
Offensive Player, and Best Defensive Player throughout her high school career.
Kayla was also the Salutatorian for her class.
Personal: Kayla was born on April 14, 1987. She is the daughter of William and Jo Lynn Futch and has an older sister, Mendy. Favorite hobbies are playing softball, tennis, and singing. She enjoys hanging out with friends and family and watching movies. She also attends First Baptist Church of Tifton. She is majoring in Business Administration.
