#8 Sarah Burcham

College: Sarah is one of five Sophomores returning for the 2000 season. Sarah started in games last year for the Fillies, primarily at second base. She hit .205 as a freshman. Coach Campbell will look for Sarah to step into a fulltime-starting role this year and help the Fillies at the plate with her bat.
In high school Sarah lettered all four years at Windsor Academy in Macon, Ga. Three times she was named to the All-Region team…in her junior year her team won the GISA State title and was State Runner-up in her Senior year. In 1996 & 1997 she was named to the All-Georgia team for USSSA and she has played summer ball for the past 5 summers for Gary Lashley.
Personal: Born March 28, 1980…enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and horseback riding. Parents are Ann and Pete Burcham…..father is a vibration analyst…and she has a younger sister, Callie. Plans to major in business.

#5 Haley Denson

Haley transferred from Thomas College and will add sophomore experience to the Fillie's team. Haley will compete for playing time in the outfield and will help the Fillies at the plate.
High School: Two-year letterman in softball and four year letterman in basketball at Stockbridge High School. Haley was named best offensive player her Senior year with a .467 batting average. Haley transferred from Thomas College where she hit .350 playing in the outfield as well as behind the plate.
Personal: Born November 27, 1978…parents are Owel Denson and Sherry Herron…father is a Labortory Director for Georgia Cancer specialist…has two sisters and one brother, Heather, Hilary, and Nicholous. Haley is majoring in Criminal Psychology.

Krista will be one of the returning Sophomore pitchers to join her teammates. Krista had a 14 win and 8 losses record for the Fillies. She was one of the Fillies top hitters as she hit .365 for the 1999 team. Krista will be one of Coach Campbell’s starting three pitchers for this year’s team; as well as playing time at 1st base.
High school: Krista played three years at North Park Secondary School in Canada. She was named MVP for her team in 1996. In her final year at North Park, she received the grade twelve athletic award.
Personal: Born May 18, 1980….enjoys traveling, shopping, spending time with friends and family, and playing other sports…parents are Cherlyn and Jeff…has two younger sisters, Janna and Amber…has played softball for twelve years, the last nine years on traveling teams in Canada; most recently with the Markham Tigers. The Tigers placed fifth at the Canadian National in 1998 and second in 1999. Plans to major in accounting at a four-year college.

#21 Kelli McNary

College: Kelli started games behind the plate for the Fillies last season and will be the #1 returning catcher for the 2000 Fillies. Kelli hit .321 and drove in 15 runs …. Coach Campbell will look to her sophomore catcher to be a big leader on the 2000 team.
High School: Kelli was a four-year varsity letterman. She was named Athlete of the Month for Niketown and Damon’s Restaurant her senior year. Kelli’s senior year she made the Georgia All-Star team and All-County team, as well as won the MVP and Best Defensive awards for her team.
Personal: Kelli was born December 5, 1979…enjoys being with friends and family and playing ABAC fastpitch. Her parents are Ron and Ginny McNary. Ron works at John Deere and Ginny is a loan processor. She has one younger sister, Andrea, who recently signed a softball scholarship to play for Georgia State University. Kelli plans on attending a four-year college after ABAC to major in Secondary Education in Mathematics.

College: As a freshman Sabrina played a back up role in the Fillie's outfield, but will look to challenge for a starting spot this season. Last season and Coach Campbell will look to the Sophomore to play a leadership role on the 2000 squad.
High School: Sabrina played hockey, softball, tennis and basketball throughout her high school career. She was captain of her softball team 3 years and a 2-year captain on the tennis and basketball teams. She was named MVP in 1998 on her hockey team and MVP both her junior and senior years in softball. In her Senior year she was named Athlete of the Year.
Personal: Born December 5, 1978, Sabrina likes to play different sports and try new things. She is majoring in Secondary Education and Psychology in the hopes of becoming a teacher and counselor in Canada. She loved her first year at ABAC and is ready to regain the State title in her Sophomore year. Parents are Ingrid and David Pace.

Coach Campbell welcomes another Canadian recruit….Lesley is a solid infielder with great work ethics……Lesley will see plenty of playing time in the Fillie's infield.
High School: Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby Ontario. Lesley played basketball, volleyball, and softball…named team captain and assistant coach for her softball team.
Personal: Born April 15, 1981…enjoys playing almost every sport. Parents are John and Susan Aitkenhead…younger brother Craig. Played Summer softball for 9 years……plans on majoring in Elementary Education.

Coach Campbell is glad to have another player from Coach Randy Black’s North Gwinett program. Brooke will add pitching depth, as well as seeing playing time in the outfield.
High School: Brooke was a four-year varsity softball letterman. She made the team of the month in September and made the first annual team of the year in Gwinett County. She was MVP her junior and senior year and also received the coaches award her sophomore year. Brook also played basketball and lettered her senior year.
Personal: Born Janaury 28, 1981…enjoys spending time with friends, family, and pets. Loves shopping and dancing…Parents are Trent and Gail and older brother Kyle. Brooke plans to major in Business.

This Canadian player should shine at the plate for the 2000 Fillies. Tania is an all around athlete with potential to be a strong player for Campbell’s team. Tania will see playing time at shortstop and a closer on the mound.
High School: Tania played basketball and softball throughout her high school career. She was named MVP five years in basketball and was headed to a college basketball career until a knee injury forced her to the softball diamond. Tania plays softball in the Summer with a traveling team…..Tania was also named Athlete of the Year in her four years of high school.
Personal: Tania was born April 7, 1980….Her parents are Ed and Julie of Canada…she has one brother, Marco (Polo). She enjoys hanging out with her friends and playing sports. Tania is currently undecided about a major, but is having fun playing collegiate softball and going to college in the United States.

Coach Campbell welcomes another great recruit from the Tift County Lady Devil’s softball program. Becky will be making the conversion from slow-pitch to fastpitch, but if Fall softball was any indication; Becky will do well for the 2000 Fillies. She will see action in the infield, either at 3rd base or shortstop.
High School: Becky lettered all four years for the Lady Devils. Her team captured the AAAA State Title in 1996. Becky was the first recipient of the E.B. Hamilton Softball Scholarship to ABAC. Honors include Slugger Award, Higher Ground Coaches Award, and All Region four years. In 1999, her Summer ball team captured the USSSA World Series and she was named to the All World team and also was a member of the 1999 North-South All Star Team, where she was named MVP of that game.
Personal: Born February 21, 1981..enjoys hanging out with friends and loves the outdoors...majoring in Physical Education and wants to become a Coach…Parents are Sue Ellen and Bill Greene and has one sister, Maggie.

Coach Campbell has brought in a recruit for the strong Jones County High School program under Coach Marty Harrington and Joy Trimnell’s direction. Lauren will see plenty of action behind the plate as a Freshman and Coach Campbell feels her bat will add to the Fillie's lineup.
High School: Lauren lettered all four years in varsity softball and played three years of basketball and two years of tennis. Lauren was presented the Greyhound award her freshman year, best offense her sophomore year, best defensive her junior year and senior year. Lauren made the All-Middle Georgia team her freshman and sophomore years. Her senior year she was named starting catcher for the South All-Star team. Lauren was voted the "Most Athletic " in her senior class.
Personal: born August 15, 1981..,enjoys spending time with friends and family, and listening to music. Her parents are Barbara and Ray Brake and kkkkk and Faye Hilton, she has one brother, Jason. Lauren plans on majoring in Psychology.

Coach Campbell is excited to get her first recruit from Coach Tracy Keefer’s Dacula High School program. Kristin will add great strength to the Fillies team, as she is a fundamentally sound player….she will see action at either corner.
High School: Kristin was a three-year starter at Dacula High School. Her senior year saw her capture many honors, such as being named the Most Offensive player on her Dacula team, as her team was named Gwinnett County Team of the Month as well as team of the year, 1998. The Dacula team finished 5Th in the 8AAA State Tournament. Kristin also played basketball where she was named MVP and team captain her senior year…she also hold the school’s shot put record in Track and Field.
Personal: Kristin was born December 20, 1980…enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing sports. Daughter of Marilyn Hughes…has two older brothers, Michael and Kevin…..two sisters, Stacey and Lori. Kristin plans on attending a four-year college after ABAC to major in Special Education.

Coach Campbell welcomes another great recruit from Coach Brenda Arnett’s Warner Robins Lady Demons program. Laura is a great student-athlete for ABAC and has great work ethics. Laura will see time in the Fillie's outfield.
High School: Laura was a three-year varsity softball letterman. In her junior year her team won the GHSA AAAA State title in slowpitch. She won the MVP award her senior year for the Lady Demons…she also played soccer for three years, lettering each of those years. Laura played basketball two years and lettered……one-year letter winner in swimming.
Personal: Born July 3, 1981…enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and playing sports…Parents are Larry and Jerri McGirr…has three older brothers and one sister…plans on majoring in Sports Medicine.

Coach Campbell went to the GISA and brought in Christie from Southland Academy. Christie will also be making the conversion from slowpitch to fastpitch. Christie has great work ethics, which will help her in the conversion…Christie will chase fly balls down in Center field for the Fillies.
High School: Christie was a five-year varsity letterman for the Lady Raiders. She was named to the All-Region team three years and also made the All-Area team for three years. Christie was named All-State her senior year, as her team finished State Runner up in the GISA. She also made the All-Star team in the GISA….she also played tennis and basketball at Southland.
Personal: born October 11, 1980. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and participating and playing sports, especially watching Duke basketball. Christie enjoys playing tennis and basketball… Parents are Eddie and Betty Anne Ward, and has old older sister, Julie. Christie plans to attend a four-year school after ABAC to major in pre-medicine.

Coach Campbell welcomes back to her program Amanda Johnson. After taking a year off from softball, Amanda will step in and provide strong leadership to a young Fillie team. Amanda had a great freshman year winning games, with an era of . Amanda will see action at 1st base as well as on the mound.
High School: lettered all four years at first base and pitcher under Coach Randy Black…was named team MVP both in 1995 and 1996, leading her team to two Region Championships and a third place finish in State in 1995…also a four year standout in varsity basketball leading her team to Georgia's "Sweet Sixteen" twice and the "Elite Eight" once as her team travelled to the Gerogia State Championships three consecutive years.
Personal: Born August 22, 1979…enjoys travelling…Parents are Larry and Dora Johnson and has a son, Kade. Amanda is majoring in Liberal Arts at ABAC.

Coach Campbell is excited to bring in another international student-athlete to ABAC; this time from Germany. Marit will greatly add to the ABAC pitching staff as she has valuable experience which will help lead this freshman dominated Fillie team.
High School…played volleyball for 15 years and only started playing softball her senior year. Marit won Most Improved Player Award her senior year and won best pitcher and MVP in 1997 on the German tournament team…she also made Schleswig Holstein All-Star Team in 1998.
Personal: born May 23, 1978…parents are Kerstin and Siegfried Kaminski…father is Vice Principal and teacher…has one older sister, Gesa. Marit enjoys being with friends, playing different sports and trying new things; she loves to travel…plans on majoring in education.
