#30 Rafael Burford *6’3* Sophomore *Guard* Columbus, GA

Rafael returns to ABAC this season for his final junior college basketball season.  He is from Columbus, Georgia and attended Columbus High School playing for Coach Ferrell.  “Ray”, as his friends call him, chose ABAC to begin his education for the atmosphere and the chance to lay college basketball.  He lists Mr. Gary Dicks as is favorite instructor at ABAC because he is helpful in and out of class and also is an avid basketball supporter.  Following his senior year of high school Ray was voted All Bi-City.  He is the son of Clifton and Janice Burford.

Sheppard on Burford:  “Ray is one of the vocal leaders of our team.  He leads with words, but he also leads by example.  No one on our team matches Ray’s intensity and love of the game.  He truly enjoys playing the game of basketball, and that enthusiasm is infectious.  He is an outstanding athlete and has the ability to excite the crowd with his slashing ability as an offensive presence, but he excites his coach more with his defensive abilities.”
