Robert Moore is married to LaRae D. Moore who is an attorney. The couple lives in Tifton, Georgia. They have a 12 year old daughter named Basharra Moore who lives in Macon, Georgia. The Moore's are expecting a baby boy on January 8th.
Moore is a native of Macon, Georgia, where he was a standout player for Northeast High School and helped lead his team to a runner-up finish in the 1987 Georgia State AAAA Tournament. From Macon, Moore went on to play at Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. Moore was very instrumental to his team playing the point guard position and helped the Buffalos win back to back Tennessee/Virginia Athletic Conference Championships. He earned his bachelors degree in business administration in 1991.
Moore then went on to Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia, where he worked as an assistant coach and helped guide VIC to a conference championship in 1993. He earned his masters of education administration from Columbus State University in June of 1997. Coach Moore was an assistant coach at Columbus State University for six years. The Cougars won 3 conference championships and appeared in the NCAA Division II Sweet "16" twice. A great deal of CSU success was from Moore's strong recruiting classes.
