Golf Returns to ABAC Fall Term

Picture

Golden Stallion golfers from Abraham Baldwin College will be back on the greens and fairways of the state this fall when intercollegiate golf returns to the ABAC sports lineup.

Herb Hendrix will coach the ABAC golfers as they compete against Georgia teams as well as squads from surrounding states.  The college will be involved in several tournaments this fall, and Hendrix has what he calls “a very competitive” team lined up.

ABAC Athletics Director Alan Kramer said the college gained new interest in a golf team in recent years when Tifton Ophthalmologist Larry Moorman and his wife, Debra, donated the $1 million Forest Lakes Golf Club to the ABAC Foundation in January, 2002.

Hendrix said ABAC will use the nine-hole Forest Lakes course for practice and will play home tournaments at Spring Hill Country Club.

For more information about Stallion' golf, please contact Coach Hendrix at 229-391-4934 or hhendrix@abac.edu.
