ABAC Baseball News

Scrimmages: October 8, 2011 vs South Georgia College

In the first games against a conference foe for the fall 2011 season the Stallions faced off in a double header against the Tigers from South Georgia.  ABAC was able to get the two game sweep with great pitching, timely hitting and blemish free defense.  In the first game the offense jumped out to a three run lead with a four hit second inning.  South Georgia battled back for a run in the top of the third to cut into the lead, but ABAC would answer right back.  A lead off double set the table for a three hit two run inning to put the score at 5-1.  The Tiger offense pushed across two runs in the fifth but another four hit inning for the Stallions plated two more runs and put the game out of reach.  ABAC 7, SGC 3

The Stallion offense picked up where it left off in the first game and tallied a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly to center field.   However, the Tigers would answer right back with a run of their own in the top of the second.  Back to Back doubles in the fourth gave ABAC a 2-1 lead.  The South Georgia offense never got on track and scattered two hits over the final five innings.  The Stallions added an insurance run after a lead off walk came around to score on a single up the middle to cap of the scoring.  ABAC 3, SGC 1
