FAVORITE THING ABOUT ABAC – Students are a name not a number.   I enjoy getting to know students throughout the recruitment process and then seeing them on campus in the dining hall, walking down the pedestrian walkway, or at an activity on campus.  It is easy for students to get engaged on campus with clubs/activities and to build relationships with their professors and advisor.

COLLEGE SEARCH TIP – As you begin the college search, think of the qualities you are looking for in a school rather than listing names of colleges you may want to consider during your search process.  Take those qualities and then begin searching for the school that is perfect for you.  Also, don’t forget to make official campus visits before making your decision.

ACADEMIC MAJOR – Master of Public Administration from Georgia College & State University and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Valdosta State University

HOBBIES – Walking, Reading, and Watching college football

FAVORITE THING ABOUT ABAC –   I like the personal touch that the students get from the faculty and staff allowing them to develop more than an in-class relationship. One of the first things I noticed when I started at ABAC, and is still true today, is that the faculty and staff genuinely care about their students.

COLLEGE SEARCH TIP –  Visit the colleges that you are considering. Open Campus and Preview Days are nice, but to get a real feel for a college a private visit during a weekday is the best way to go. One more tip is to do EVERYTHING as early as possible including admissions applications, scholarship applications, and the FASFA. If it’s something that needs to be submitted, requested, filled out, or completed, do it EARLY!!

FAVORITE THING ABOUT ABAC—Having the chance to get to know the students on a personal level. I enjoy walking down the pedestrian mall or being in the dining hall and seeing those familiar faces!  I really get attached to students.

COLLEGE SEARCH TIP—Visit the campus!  Make sure you leave your visits with a warm, fuzzy feeling.  Find the college that suits YOU the best.  Don’t worry about where your friends go; find the place that makes you feel most at home.

HOBBIES—Shop, family time with Hugh and Bentley, and read when I have a chance!

FAVORITE THING ABOUT ABAC – Feels like home. I moved 12 hours away from home and rarely feel homesick because of the family atmosphere ABAC offers. You’re not just a number here you are a name and a person people want to get to know!

COLLEGE SEARCH TIP – Visit, visit, visit. Visiting campus is one of the most important things you can do as a high school student. You will know within the first 15 minutes whether you like it or not and if you don’t feel comfortable then you won’t be happy there.

ACADEMIC MAJOR –  Communication with concentrations in Public Relations and Rhetorical Advocacy from Purdue University. Currently working toward a Master’s degree in Higher Ed Administration from Georgia Southern University

HOBBIES – My biggest interest is sports; born and raised in Indiana, college basketball is my favorite pastime. Especially when my alma mater, Purdue University, is playing! BOILER UP!  I also worked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for three years so you can’t get more adrenaline filled than watching cars zoom by at 230 MPH. But in my free time you can catch me reading a book or watching some of my favorite television shows.
