ABAC Degree: A.S. Agricultural Communication, December 1999

How did ABAC help prepare you for your future? From ABAC, I transferred to UGA and received my Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications (’02) and my Master’s Degree in Food Science (’05). I now work for an association management organization, Association Services Group. I serve as the Executive Director of two associations, the Georgia Women of Achievement and the Georgia Olive Growers Association, as well as the Director of Education and Food Safety for the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.

Favorite Memory of ABAC: Participating in ABAC’s jazz choir and speech class.

ABAC Degree: A.A. Psychology, May 2011

How did ABAC help prepare you for your future? ABAC prepared me in numerous ways for my transfer to Georgia Southern University and in the real world. The leadership and teamwork experience I gained at ABAC has molded me into the woman I am today. The endless opportunities for expanding my education at ABAC were outstanding and very memorable. There were always activities, workshops, and so much more to attend to become a better person.

Favorite Memory of ABAC: There are two memories that I can’t ever forget of ABAC. The first is the chicken and waffles night because the campus would come out just to have a good time, enjoy some live entertainment, and most importantly enjoy the company of fellow Stallions. My second favorite memory at ABAC was graduation day. The warm feel in the gym was one that I can still feel when I think about it to this day. The bittersweet emotions that flooded my body as I walked across the stage to smiling faces from respected personnel made me remember why ABAC was my college of choice from the beginning.

ABAC Degree: A.S. Biology, May 2006

How did ABAC help prepare you for your future? Starting out at a small school like ABAC helped prepare me for life at larger colleges. I learned the level of work that was expected out of college students, but also the distraction of social life that is bound to follow at any college. To be able to grow accustom to that on a small scale ensured that my priorities would be right when I was met with those challenges on a bigger scale at a major university.

Favorite Memory of ABAC: I loved living at ABAC Place. Being from Tifton I was worried that staying in my hometown to go to school wouldn’t be a big enough change and wouldn’t feel like college. But living at ABAC Place, I got the experience of what dorm life would be, but in much more roomy and comfortable accommodations.

ABAC Degree: A.S. Business Administration, May 2007

How did ABAC help prepare you for your future? After transferring to another institution, I found that ABAC had given me an advantage over other students. Due to the ABAC faculty and class sizes, I had a much stronger foundation in all business disciplines. This made the upper-level classes much easier.

Favorite Memory of ABAC: The atmosphere of ABAC is what attracted me attend ABAC, and it also is one of my favorite memories. ABAC has a unique atmosphere that creates a sense of family and you develop close relationships with a large number of people with varied backgrounds. I am still in contact with a large number of the people I met during my tenure at ABAC.
