The Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village is a living
history museum and village, recreating the farms and rural village life
in Wiregrass Georgia from 1870-1910. The tour shows students how people
lived and worked in rural wiregrass Georgia in the last century. For
groups of any size and all ages, a self-guided, go-at-your-own-pace tour
of our 95-acre site and museum makes for an exciting and educational
visit.
Costumed interpreters throughout the village will answer questions and
describe artifacts and buildings. Our site has period farm houses which
demonstrate life as it was during the late 1800s and early 1900s. We
also have an operating water-powered grist mill, an on-site blacksmith,
a one-room school, and a church and doctor’s office, among others. Also
open for touring are our Museum of Agriculture, Gallery, Founding
Fathers Home and Peanut Museum. Stop by our 1900s drug store which
offers drinks, delicious hand-dipped ice cream and lunch combos for
sale.
