Peanut Museum

The Peanut Museum was built in honor of James Shepherd, inventor of the mechanized peanut combine (which can be seen in the main museum hall). Mrs. Rosalie Shepherd funded the project which now hosts a collection of plows, the American Turpentine Farmers Association exhibit of Turpentine Queens, several large peanut industry artifacts, and an exhibit showing Mr. Shepherd’s personal memorabilia. The Peanut Museum is also a popular venue for weddings.
