Virtuoso Chamber Music

The Virtuoso Chamber Music Series is designed to promote an appreciation for the tremendous expressive capacity of fine solo piano and chamber music. The series features skilled artists drawn from outstanding regional and national professional artists.

These concerts are presented free of charge and are funded in their entirety by the Stafford Fine Arts Endowment.

GBQ 2015 School
The Georgia Brass Quintet is a premier ensemble comprised of distinguished brass faculty from the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music. The quintet champions a broad array of repertoire from Renaissance to contemporary music, as well as arrangements of familiar jazz and pop tunes. The quintet features the stellar talents of Phil Smith, trumpet; Brandon Craswell, trumpet; Jean Martin-Williams, horn; Joshua Bynum, trombone; and David Zerkel, tuba.

Jasmin Arakawa, Piano

Jasmin Arakawa 3A charismatic and versatile pianist, Jasmin Arakawa has performed widely in North, Central, and South America, Europe, and Japan. Described by critics as a “lyrical” pianist with “impeccable technique” (The Record), she has been heard in prestigious venues worldwide including Carnegie Hall, Salle Gaveau (Paris), and Victoria Hall (Geneva). Born in Japan, Jasmin is a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studied with Shigeru Maruyama and Katsumi Ueda. She holds Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Emile Naoumoff, the last protégé of Nadia Boulanger.
