Rural Life

Living Learning Communities

Rural Life

Coach: Dr. Gail Dillard, 229-391-5130, gdillard@abac.edu

Will rural areas survive in an increasingly urban world?  What are the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities around the globe?

Many colleges and universities have Urban Studies programs, but ABAC is the only college to have a program in Rural Studies at the undergraduate level.  The Rural Life LLC will introduce students to this unique major through readings, art, music, film, writing, and class discussion.  The LLC will also draw on resources available through the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and will provide opportunities for hands-on learning through community service activities.

Become a part of this community and the movement towards preserving the positive aspects of rural life.
