Welcome CISM 2201 Fundamentals of Computer applications on-line class.

Here is the information for the class and how the on-line class works.

General guidelines:

1. It will be important that you keep up with the course and maintain communication with the instructor.
2. A communication website will be used to view the course calendar, view grades, and send e-mails.  WebCT  ( http://www.abac.edu/Login/  )
3. A testing software will be used for practice, projects and testing in addition to the text book. MyITLab  ( http://www.abac.edu/Login/ )
4. See the syllabus for information on the textbook bundle or purchasing the MyITLab only. www.abac.edu/jbrannen  You will need your book and MyITLab testing code beginning day one.  Please make your purchase as soon as possible.
5. How does the on-line class work? 
4 easy steps:
 
Step one: login to webct weekly and reply to attendance e-mail.
Step two
: Complete the assignments in the book and submit them in WebCT learning modules
Step three
: Complete MyITLab project
Step four: Practice the test in MyITLab and Take the exam as scheduled in MyITlab


All of four steps will be detailed on the calendar in WebCT each chapter covered. The publisher estimates each chapters takes an average of 45-50 minutes to complete. See the syllabus for details for each chapter.
6. You will always be able to ask questions by e-mail and are highly encouraged to communicate with your class mates in WebCT.
7.  Login to WebCT http://www.abac.edu/Login/ .  Your login is the first part of your stallion e-mail (example: jbrannen). Your password is your six digit birthday unless you have already logged in and changed it.  If you can't login, contact Ms Janet Weaver at jweaver@abac.edu.  She will reset your password.  If you do not know your stallion e-mail, go to Banner web and click the red link to determine your webct login, student e-mail, abac ID, etc.
8. Roster Picture:  Every student must upload a picture of themselves on the Roster Link in WebCT.  Choose a picture that shows your face.  Please use an appropriate picture suitable for viewing by the class. This picture will be populated in all of your webct courses automatically. Instructions for uploading a picture is on the webct home page once you log in. BONUS POINTS!  upload your picture the by the end of the first week and receive 10pts.
